Shaun Black
Founder & Chief Analyst
Shaun founded PIVOTL based on his unwavering belief in the transformative power of a well-designed analytics system, and its ability to help companies improve across all areas of operation. He experienced this first-hand working with hundreds of businesses over 17 years as an executive at a global manufacturing analytics software company. The in-house analytics he built to manage worldwide sales, marketing, and business development were the catalyst for what later became PIVOTL.
Shaun graduated Summa Cum Laude from Colorado State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and a Specialization in Data Management and Analytics. He received the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®) designation from The American College in Bryn Mawr, PA, and is an active member of the Board of Directors for Casa Teresa, a 43-year-old not-for-profit organization that has assisted over 6800 pregnant women in crisis in Orange County, CA.

Pat Toole
Senior Vice President
With more than 20 years of experience leading onshore and offshore development teams, Pat is a seasoned technology executive and entrepreneur. A pioneer in the event ticketing space, Pat created one of the industry’s first point-of-sale systems and ticket marketplaces. After the acquisition of that business, Pat conceptualized and developed an industry-leading asset management system used by many Fortune 500 companies including Bank of America and Goldman Sachs.
These experiences led to a fascination with data science and the power that companies can derive by harvesting and capitalizing on the wealth of data within their organizations. Today, at PIVOTL, Pat is passionate about bringing analytics and data visualization to clients so that they can improve their process, eliminate pain points and expand their businesses.
Pat has a Bachelor’s Degree in Cognitive Science from the University of California at San Diego and holds a certificate in Artificial Intelligence—Implications for Business Strategy from Massachusetts Institute of Technology CSAIL.
